Notes

Died form TB following discharge from the Army with that illness. His grave was recognised as a war grave by the CWGC in 2015. Prior to enlisting, he was employed as a labourer in the Signal Works. There is some evidence that although he enlisted in 1914, he never actually served overseas and was released to civilian work. His discharge gratuity amount indicates that he served for 13 months, all of which was Home Service.
