Lydia Jane Carpenter (Wife)

10 London Road Chippenham

Notes

He had previously been in the Dorsetshire Regiment with the service number 17900. His wife was Lydia Jane (nee STRUGNELL) and in 1911 the family were living at 10 London Road, Chippenham. There is a medal card for Thomas, as Thomas H Carpenter, and also a record in Ireland Casualties of WW1, though of course he was not Irish, having been born in Chippenham. Besides his widow, he left five young children, the youngest of whom, named after him as Thomas Henry CARPENTER, was born in 1917 but died as a very young baby. Lydia went on to marry firstly a Mr HULBERT and then a Mr CUSS, both from Chippenham.
