Mrs Vines of Baydon’s Lane whose husband is serving with the Territorials in India has just heard from the War Office that her son, Pte Edgar Vines was killed in action in connection with the recent advance in France.

The 1901 census shows Charles W and Mary E Vines living on Woodlands Road with their 8 year old son, Edgar. By 1920, they had moved to 3 Grove Cottages, Drove Road, Swindon.
